A week of Christmas

I will just begin by saying that I am still recovering from our "week of christmas" so if I start getting repetative and not make sense, there is your reason.
I have a video I need to upload and pictures from my mom I need to post too. There was a little drama over the week that I will omit and I will try to keep the bitterness to a minimum.
Well, Miss Karsen had a GREAT Christmas this year. Here is her Christmas time line:
December 23
I picked Karsen up from her father's house. Santa came early for Karsen since she wouldn't be at our house on Christmas morning. Brandon and I spent the weekend reorganizing her room to fit her new desk we got her for Christmas so it would be all set up for her. Karsen also got a Wii! We spent the evening bowling on it. I have great video of her boxing too that I will post as soon as I can upload it. Great family Christmas!
December 24
I worked that morning so Brandon took the day off and played with Karsen. They came to pick me up early from work and we were off to my moms for Christmas with the Reavis family! Poppa made beef tenderloin with rolls and horseradish sauce, tortelini salad, greek salad and fruit. It was all great! Karsen got a real guitar from my grandmother. She was so cute playing it in her green dress. I love listening to her play even though it doesn't really sound like any song. She also got a charm bracelet with a kitty charm and I am giving her one of my old charms too. We left and took her to her father's house she could have Christmas over there.
December 25
Christmas morning was quiet without Miss Kittycat. We went over to my cousin's andI ate some Isreali stuffed zuchinni (She is from Isreal and i LOVE the food she makes) then we headed over the Brandon's moms and opened presents. Brandon and I met Karsen's father at 7ish to bring her over to Bonnie's for her presents and dinner. She got lot more great gifts and got to play with her favorite (and newest) cousin, Finley who is just a year older than Karsen. The girls always have a fun when they get together.
December 26
I worked so Brandon and Karsen Wiied the day away again. That evening we went to my dad's for our last day of Christmas.

I know it can't be fun with divorced parents, but I have to say I think Karsen had it pretty good this year with all the Christmas presents she got to open!

No Cavemen Allowed

I had to share this story. Karsen likes to mess with Brandon, like try to fix his hair and rub his back and things like that. Well, the other day we were getting ready to go somewhere and Karsen told Brandon she wanted to cut his hand hair and finger hair. We told her that men had hair on their hands but she insisted "You are going to a fancy party and they don't allow cavemen there!" So here is Brandon's hand and I see no caveman qualities...

Yes, it is THIS COLD!!!

This is one reason I LOVE living in Texas. The weather is never predictable! Most people hate the constant change, but I am not one for monotony so I like the up and down of the temperatures. I could live without the icy commute to work, though. Who knew there were so many bridges between Dallas and Carrollton!!
Karsen got to wear her new gloves that she is very proud of to school. Doesn't really go with the pink winter garb from last year, but she likes them! We are getting so excited for Christmas! I can't wait until she opens one of her presents and I can share it here. I think it's possibly the BEST gift ever.

Karsen's Crush

Along with a little boy named Henry in her class (some of you may remember Henry from Kindergarden... holding hands on the playground? Blowing kisses in class?) Karsen has developed a crush on Tony Romo. I know I am biased, but in my opinion, Jessica has some competition...

Karsen's Doctor Day

Thurday was Doctor Day for Karsen and me. She played hooky from school and I took the day off work. I had my normal biweekly check up and Karsen had to get her cast off and go see her pulmonologist for her 3 month asthma check up.

My appointment went great. Karsen got to come in and hear the heartbeat. I think that was pretty cool for her. She wants to be in the room with me when they take the baby and assures me that she won't mind the blood. I had to break it to her that they don't allow 1st graders in the operating room but I will see her right after!

Then we were off to Karsen's pediatric orthopedic guy to get her cast off. He said her xrays look good but since it was on the growth plate, we would need to come back in 3 months to make sure it didn't damage it. She still has to stay off the playground and no sports for 3 more weeks. She was NOT happy about that considering she got her injury being the daredevil that she is doing flips off the swings.

After that we got Greek food for lunch. Karsen loved the gyro meat and tzaziki sauce. She insisted on the Greek salad and was bummed when I had to pass on the Feta. I love that I have such a cool little person that will go eat different ethnic food with me and not want to just order chicken nuggets or macaroni. She actually wanted Sushi, but I told her after the baby we would have a sushi day.

Last, we went to her Pulmonologist. Karsen had developed a little cough in the last couple of days so I was glad we were already going in to see him. Her asthma had been getting better and better every time we had been there up until now. Her large and small airways are functioning a bit below normal right now. She had been at 103% & 105% on a 100% scale, she is now at 62% and 76% and has a little bronchitis. So, back to the nebulizer for breathing treatments and we upped the dosage on her Advair to the highest dose and no playing outside for a week. She was REALLY bummed about that one. Poor thing, she is such an active kid!

She got a little bored during all the dr visits and in between "Pet Shop" games. (Pet shop is pretty much a 20 questions animal guessing game... not as easy as it sounds especially with her coming up with antelopes and leatherback sea turtles) Here is Karsen entertaining me with her "meditation"... The day was long and tiring, but it was fun to spend a day with just me and my girl!

Brandon & Karsen's Gingerbread House

Karsen and Brandon made a gingerbread house on their day together when I had to work. I thought they did a GREAT job!!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. We went to all 3 parents houses and got to see just about everybody in the family! Karsen got to get her cast signed by everybody.

Karsen loves the belly

The funny things she does....

This is what happens when you have too much stuff in your backseat and your child gets bored on a long drive.

This was just funny. I wanted a picture with the 4 generations... Karsen did not.
