Here is Miss Karsen all dressed up... to go to Kroger. I straightened her hair and she got all of the accessories together so she could priss around the grocery store. Too cute!

My Little Starfish Girl

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a girl picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the girl, he asked, “What are you doing?”
The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”
“Young lady,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You can’t make a difference!”
After listening politely, the girl bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, she said…”
I made a difference for that one.”
Karsen was baptised this past Sunday at my mom's church in Hurst. Her aunt gave her that story with a starfish necklace for her baptism. I thought it was a neat story and a cool present for a cool little girl.

At work with mom

KAT had to come to work with me today. She was supposed to be at her father's house this whole weekend but they are all sick. So, she is working with momma and this is what she thinks about it! I am just so lucky to have such a flexible job that I can take my kid in to work! Plus she is the BEST assistant!!!

A week of Christmas

I will just begin by saying that I am still recovering from our "week of christmas" so if I start getting repetative and not make sense, there is your reason.
I have a video I need to upload and pictures from my mom I need to post too. There was a little drama over the week that I will omit and I will try to keep the bitterness to a minimum.
Well, Miss Karsen had a GREAT Christmas this year. Here is her Christmas time line:
December 23
I picked Karsen up from her father's house. Santa came early for Karsen since she wouldn't be at our house on Christmas morning. Brandon and I spent the weekend reorganizing her room to fit her new desk we got her for Christmas so it would be all set up for her. Karsen also got a Wii! We spent the evening bowling on it. I have great video of her boxing too that I will post as soon as I can upload it. Great family Christmas!
December 24
I worked that morning so Brandon took the day off and played with Karsen. They came to pick me up early from work and we were off to my moms for Christmas with the Reavis family! Poppa made beef tenderloin with rolls and horseradish sauce, tortelini salad, greek salad and fruit. It was all great! Karsen got a real guitar from my grandmother. She was so cute playing it in her green dress. I love listening to her play even though it doesn't really sound like any song. She also got a charm bracelet with a kitty charm and I am giving her one of my old charms too. We left and took her to her father's house she could have Christmas over there.
December 25
Christmas morning was quiet without Miss Kittycat. We went over to my cousin's andI ate some Isreali stuffed zuchinni (She is from Isreal and i LOVE the food she makes) then we headed over the Brandon's moms and opened presents. Brandon and I met Karsen's father at 7ish to bring her over to Bonnie's for her presents and dinner. She got lot more great gifts and got to play with her favorite (and newest) cousin, Finley who is just a year older than Karsen. The girls always have a fun when they get together.
December 26
I worked so Brandon and Karsen Wiied the day away again. That evening we went to my dad's for our last day of Christmas.
I know it can't be fun with divorced parents, but I have to say I think Karsen had it pretty good this year with all the Christmas presents she got to open!

No Cavemen Allowed

I had to share this story. Karsen likes to mess with Brandon, like try to fix his hair and rub his back and things like that. Well, the other day we were getting ready to go somewhere and Karsen told Brandon she wanted to cut his hand hair and finger hair. We told her that men had hair on their hands but she insisted "You are going to a fancy party and they don't allow cavemen there!" So here is Brandon's hand and I see no caveman qualities...

Yes, it is THIS COLD!!!
This is one reason I LOVE living in Texas. The weather is never predictable! Most people hate the constant change, but I am not one for monotony so I like the up and down of the temperatures. I could live without the icy commute to work, though. Who knew there were so many bridges between Dallas and Carrollton!!
Karsen got to wear her new gloves that she is very proud of to school. Doesn't really go with the pink winter garb from last year, but she likes them! We are getting so excited for Christmas! I can't wait until she opens one of her presents and I can share it here. I think it's possibly the BEST gift ever.
